Chessillo is a tactical chess roguelike where every run challenges you to build an army strong enough to survive 3 acts and defeat 3 enemy kings.

Recruit pieces, combine faction abilities, and adapt your strategy from battle to battle. It is not just about making the right move: it is about creating a composition that can bend the rules of the board.

Build a different strategy every run

Every victory opens up new decisions. Recruit pieces, improve your composition, and turn ordinary units into the key pieces of your army.

Sometimes the best choice is to strengthen your plan. Other times, it is sacrificing a piece that no longer fits. Each run pushes you to find new synergies, improvise with what you are offered, and discover combinations you did not expect.

Three princes, three ways to play

Every run begins with an important choice: which character will lead your army.

The 3 characters in Chessillo each have their own passive and unique faction abilities, pushing you toward different strategies from the very first battle. Some favor adaptation, others reward more specialized compositions, and others change how you manage your pieces throughout the run.

Choose your starting point. Then improvise.

Not every battle is won the same way

In Chessillo, clearing pieces without thinking is not enough. Each battle can have a different objective, and understanding it in time can be the difference between a clean victory and a ridiculous defeat.

Regicide — capture the enemy king.

Survival — last the required number of turns or eliminate the threats.

Elimination — leave no enemy piece standing.

The strongest army will not always be the one that deals the most damage. Sometimes you will need to control the board, protect a key piece, or survive one more turn.

Survive 3 acts and overthrow the 3 kings

At the end of each act, an enemy king awaits with their own abilities and an exclusive event designed to put your strategy under pressure.

A comfortable composition can suddenly stop working. Improve your pieces, reorganize your army, and adapt your plan before the next king makes you pay for your bad decisions.
