About the Game

"Signal 17 Hertz" is a horizontal detective visual novel set in Moscow in the late 2000s.

The 2000s in Russia are an era many people still feel nostalgic about: ICQ, music CDs, computer clubs, polyphonic ringtones and old-school mobile phones. A time when Moscow’s luxury lifestyle existed side by side with run-down apartment buildings and cramped student dormitories.

Young Roma arrives in Moscow from a small provincial town, dreaming of making it in the capital. A new city, university, dorm life, new friends and first encounters with adulthood. But little by little, Roma gets drawn into a mystery surrounding strange audio files that seem to change people, make them disappear — and sometimes never come back.

And the deeper Roma digs, the clearer it becomes: there is more to his arrival in Moscow than just a dream of life in the capital.
