Cataclysmic Bite

About the Game

Notice Before Playing:

Before starting your game make sure your pc resolution is at least 1280x720 or 1920x1080. Also, in options in the actual game, set your game to fullscreen, and stretch screen to avoid sprites cutting off. The best way to play it! Also, errors I can't fix, but doesn't affect going forward in the game. Since the game engine broke the scripts, the shop glitches out, and crashes the game. If you take too long being in there or just in there. But, just make sure to save before going in it, and it'll let you go out when you click cancel from the actual shop. Do not press the "x" key to exit the shop! Sometimes it can work, but most of the time will crash the game. Make sure to press the "z" key in the cancel setting in the actual shop! Also, it broke the bullet system, so you will have infinite ammo. If you want to give yourself a challenge, don't use ranged weapons or use them sometimes. The final error is, "You stayed in the same spot for too long!" Is a glitch error from the threat level script from the beginning of being idle too long. Can't fix that either. None of these errors affect moving forward or finishing the game though! So, if you can accept that please continue playing!

Cataclysmic Bite is a story driven dark fantasy RPG that blends horror, mystery, and emotional character storytelling in a cursed world overrun by demon cats. A strange supernatural bite spreads across the land, transforming ordinary villagers into monstrous beings and plunging once peaceful regions into fear and chaos. A small group of survivors must uncover the truth behind the curse before it consumes everything.

The game is structured into narrative driven chapters, each introducing new locations, enemies, puzzles, and story developments. Players will explore forests, abbeys, clock towers, and ruined settlements, slowly piecing together the history of the world and the forces responsible for its downfall. The story places a strong focus on character interaction and growth, allowing party members to develop naturally through shared experiences, victories, and losses.

Combat is turn based and strategic, designed to emphasize tension and decision making rather than simple grinding. Encounters range from standard battles to large scale boss fights with unique mechanics, dangerous abilities, and cinematic presentation. Some enemies are intentionally overwhelming early on, encouraging players to explore, prepare, and return stronger. Boss encounters are designed to feel imposing and memorable, with distinct patterns that require careful planning to overcome.

Exploration is a core part of the experience. Players will solve environmental puzzles, navigate maze areas, avoid threats through stealth focused segments, and uncover optional paths that reward curiosity. Certain sections limit combat entirely, creating moments of vulnerability that heighten suspense and reinforce the horror elements of the world. Hidden lore, optional challenges, and secrets are scattered throughout each area for players willing to take their time.

Character progression allows party members to learn new abilities, strengthen their roles in combat, and adapt to increasingly dangerous situations. Growth is tied closely to story progression, ensuring that gameplay and narrative evolve together rather than feeling disconnected. Each character brings a distinct personality and playstyle to the party, contributing to both combat strategy and story dynamics.

Cataclysmic Bite features an original soundtrack that blends haunting ambience, emotional themes, and intense battle music to match the tone of each scene. Voice lines are used selectively during combat and key moments to enhance immersion while maintaining a deliberate, atmospheric pacing. Dialogue is intentionally unskippable during delivery, encouraging players to slow down and fully absorb the world and its characters.

Designed as a complete, self experience, Cataclysmic Bite offers several hours of handcrafted content with a strong emphasis on atmosphere, storytelling, and meaningful challenge.
