About the Game

Welcome to the lowest sport in town. Down in the sewer, out in the back alley and under the motorway flyover, the city's finest bums gather around a plywood track to race rats — and bet everything they've got on them.

Bet while they run

Odds shift live as money hits the pool. Back an outsider early for a fat payout, or pile onto the leader late for almost nothing. Three laps. Winner takes the purse.

Cheat. Obviously.

Lob a cheese wedge in front of the favourite, drop a mousetrap on the racing line, slip them a banana, set off a stink bomb or let loose a wind-up cat and watch the whole field panic backwards.

Gamble it all

Feed the slot machines for x20s, free spins and the RAT KING jackpot. Put a quid on the jukebox. Buy a Mystery Bin Bag — it's usually rubbish. Sometimes it's gold.

THE SOGGY GLOVE

Behind a door on every map is a sewer boxing bar. A rat-man and a bum go at it non-stop in the ring — throw your junk in and change the fight. Bet on cockroach racing live on RRTV at the BET-O-MATIC 3000. Tip Rat Woman and she'll bust out a dance.

Something big lives up high

Climb the junk, find its nest, and toss it some cheese. Then run.

Don't come last

Sometimes the plumber comes out for whoever finished at the bottom. Sometimes he just wants to scare you. And sometimes he brings a machine gun.

Be a better bum

Your cash, gear and Bum Level are saved between sessions. Level up from Fresh Meat to The Big Cheese, unlock titles for every achievement, climb the BUM BANK leaderboard, dress your rat in a diamond tiara and walk about with a diamond cane. Or hand out soup to the homeless at a dollar a bowl — someone has to.
