Broken Relic

Broken Relic

About the Game

The Story

On your first day as an apprentice at the Nytheris Archive, you accidentally unleash something that was meant to stay sealed forever. Classic intern mistake!

Now the world is wobbling on the edge of disaster, and it’s up to you to track down the three shattered pieces of an ancient relic and put things right before the darkness spreads.

What is Broken Relic?

Broken Relic is a fantasy comedy adventure, made with love for anyone who grew up on Monkey Island, Simon the Sorcerer, Discworld, King’s Quest and the golden age of 90s adventures.

If you ever swapped puzzle tips in a schoolyard, tried every verb on every object, or felt the warm glow of a CRT screen while solving an absurd problem with an even more absurd item... you’re home.

Inspired by the classics but designed with modern clarity, this is an adventure where:

  • puzzles are readable and rewarding.

  • funny jokes or your money back.

  • characters feel alive.

  • and every scene is hand-crafted with big, delicious pixels.

Or, as John Walker from Buried Treasure put it:

Wonderfully reminiscent of those glory days of the point-and-click adventure in the mid-90s, this has vibes of Simon the Sorcerer, but with all the tiresome smugness removed. Stunning pixel art, fantastic voice acting, fun inventory puzzles, and incredibly importantly, a likeable character to play. I’m astonished this is somehow the work of a single developer.”

Give me the bulletpoints!

  • Classic point-and-click feel  you point, you click, things happen.

  • Fully voiced dialogue (English).

  • Beautiful pixel-art backgrounds and expressive characters.

  • Fantasy + comedy: magic books, strange cults, mild chaos.

  • Clever inventory puzzles (no moon-logic, no fail states, no deaths).

  • A cosy, story-rich adventure split into three acts.

  • Act I, the entire first chapter is included in the free demo.

About the Demo

The demo covers Act I of the game (~35–45 minutes), fully voiced, with multiple puzzles, characters, and locations.

If you’re curious whether Broken Relic is for you, just play it. No trailers or promises needed, the game will speak for itself!

Who's making this?

Hi! I’m Pablo Morales, a solo developer and professional game designer.

Broken Relic is a passion project I’ve carried with me since I was a kid clicking through Monkey Island for the first time. Every pixel, puzzle, joke, and line of dialogue is crafted by hand.
