Bravemech: The Century War

Bravemech: The Century War

About the Game

Action Strategy RPG with Roguelite elements!

The war lasts a hundred years. Each run is one year of it.

  • Action: fly your own mech in side-view real-time battles, in space and over land.

  • RPG: upgrade your pilot, your mech, your squad, your ship's captain and your ship.

  • Roguelite: pilots can die permanently, and a run can end in defeat, but the war moves on. Your upgrades and Bravecores carry into the next year. The goal is to reach year 100.

You are a pilot on a warship with a crew, not the ruler of an empire. Each year is a string of missions: escorts, capital ship hunts, rival aces and mega bosses.

Combat

  • Every mech can fly. Battles take place in space and over land.

  • Weapons: rifles, machine guns, cannons, missile salvos, a 3-hit sword combo, and a charged beam that upgrades from the Ion Lance to the Ion Annihilator, the strongest weapon in the game.

  • Parts damage: when an arm is destroyed, the weapon it holds stops working.

  • Energy shields absorb hits until they break.

  • Capital ships fire batteries in volleys.

Mechs

  • 100+ mechs across two factions, the Star Alliance and the Trinity Empire, in four roles: blade, heavy, fast and support.

  • Every mech has a reactor with a fixed budget. Stronger weapons draw more power, so every loadout is a trade-off.

  • Support mechs shield their squad with Aegis plates on the side facing the enemy.

  • OVERDRIVE doubles your mech's output for a short time, then it overheats.

Pilots and crew

  • Every pilot has a callsign and a service record: sorties, kills, rescues.

  • Death is permanent. A pilot can be lost even in a battle you win.

  • Rival aces remember past fights and come back.

  • The Memorial Wall lists every pilot who flew with you, year after year.

Mega bosses and Bravecores

Defeat a mega boss such as the Zenith Frame to salvage its Bravecore, then install it in your own mech. Bravecores come in four grades with randomly rolled stats, and you can fuse and enchant them.

Co-op and controls

  • Play solo, or with up to four players on one screen in local co-op.

  • Full controller support.

  • Give your AI wingmen orders: hold, regroup, hunt, focus fire.

  • Dock with your carrier during a battle to repair and rearm.

Coming in 1.0: the war campaign

A second way to fight the hundred-year war: as a commander, on strategy maps.

  • The planet campaign: move carriers and squads across a hex map and capture cities, factories and ports.

  • The sector campaign: command across seven worlds, hold your supply lines, and face an enemy commander who builds and attacks the same way you do.

  • Every clash on the map is a battle you fly.

The story

No one knows who made the Bravecores, the power cores no one alive can build. The first pilots to use them became kings, the First Brave, until one of them took the core from another king's machine. Their age ended in that fighting, and two powers rose from it: the Star Alliance and the Trinity Empire. They now fight over everything the First Brave left behind.

The First Brave are remembered by their machines: Azure King, God Slayer, Flame Emperor, Terra and Novus.

In Early Access

Early Access is the hundred-year war as a roguelite, one year per run. Planned for 1.0: the war campaign on planet and sector strategy maps, more mega bosses, Bravecores, mechs and weapons, and balance changes based on player feedback.
