Borrowed Faces

Borrowed Faces

About the Game

Just Another Shift

Only 9 more stops until you can go home. It's easier said than done when you are driving through the otherworldly realms to pick up humans wandering in places they shouldn't among the denizens of the dark. Luckily you have a journal left from the last guy on your route giving you all his knowledge for surviving. Unluckily you have no idea what happened to him.

Oh, and you can't let the monsters you pick up know who you are.

About the Game

Borrowed Faces is a first-person immersive horror game where you are a bus driver having peer through the darkness of the passengers you pick up to figure out who is human and who should be dropped off at the next stop. Through 3 distinct levels you interrogate a variety of monsters as they try to gain passage on your bus. You must rely on the information from your trust journal and answers gleaned from dialogue with the passengers to tell friend apart from foe.

Gameplay

  • Atmospheric Suspense: The tension builds as you bring each new passenger onto your bus, wondering if you made the right choices or not.

  • Interrogation or paranoia: You can converse with passengers with text-based options and inspect their tickets, or reject everyone out of fear of making a mistake.

  • Interactive fiction: This isn't a driving game, it's a story told through first-person interactions. You can choose when to progress to the next area or wander the bus a little while.

  • Investigative tools: You can mark down in your journal who is a human and review characteristics of each species, along with verifying their ticket information.  Assuming you want to make it to the end of the line at least.
