About the Game

Blubbi is a cute, relaxing, online pet game where you collect and care for creatures called Blubbies, made by a solo dev (me!). It's generally a second monitor game. You glance at it, get some drops from various POIs, check in on timers and leave it running to progress.

You start by adopting your first Blubbi. You pick a colour and give it a name. After that your Blubbi is your responsibility. Keep it happy, keep it fed, send it to school to level it up, and read it books to shape its personality. Wild Blubbies appear around the world for a short time, and you can catch them with Charms. There are currently 83 Blubbies across eight rarity tiers, plus 19 companion Pets that follow your Blubbi around and many more coming in future updates.

The game is set in the world of Ivalisia, a fantasy world with deep lore, and regions with history, empires and factions. I want it to feel like a living world. You start in Solhaven with a bank, cauldron, wishing well, lost & found barrel, and a rescue center where you can surrender or adopt Blubbies from other players. From there you can sail to the island of Isla Nama, travel to the Eryndis desert, explore caves and tombs, and unlock hidden locations by collecting map pieces. Just about every system and POI in the game runs on timers.

There are nearly a thousand items (soon to be thousands!) to find across nine rarity tiers. Some are just for collecting, some are for your Blubbi to use, some unlock rare and secret locations, and some are for your Blubbi to equip and wear, with 180 cosmetics so far. You can also upgrade your Blubbi to earn more currency, prestige it for permanent bonuses, and train its combat stats for when combat arrives.

There's a global chat connected to Discord, a Trade Market, leaderboards, a donation tree, server-wide events and seasonal events. The whole world sees announcements for rare drops and other things that happen in-game. Your current Blubbi is your avatar, so everyone in chat sees its outfit, and its level and prestige count show as badges next to your name.

This is a passion project. I've been working on building the world of Ivalisia for a long time and plan to keep adding more of it to Blubbi: new regions, new POIs, more Blubbies, new systems and more online features.
