About the Game

BeeKillinsInn is a sharp tactical turn-based grid strategy game set inside a haunted inn that's been completely overrun by swarms of furious bees.

You fight room by room on tight grid battlefields, carefully positioning your character while scavenging everyday household weapons — shoes, fly swatters, spray cans, and more — scattered around the map. Every encounter is a tense mix of smart movement, strong positioning, and split-second timing.

Built on a custom Vulkan engine with compute-shader raytracing and written entirely in the Odin programming language, BeeKillinsInn blends tactical grid combat with quick time events and deck-driven enemy AI.

Combat draws direct inspiration from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It blends thoughtful grid-based positioning and movement with satisfying real-time Quick Time Events. You line up your attacks, then strike at the perfect moment on a moving bar. When the bees counter, you must nail precise left or right dodges to survive. The flow feels fast, responsive, and incredibly satisfying.

Key Mechanics:

• Grid Positioning & Movement — Plan your steps carefully on small, deadly grids. Use cover, walls, and open space to set up attacks while staying out of danger.

• Real-Time QTE Combat — Time your strikes on a moving attack bar for big damage, or pull off perfect directional dodges when the bees strike back.

• Distinct Bee Personalities — Aggressive bees rush you down, Normal bees play it straight, and Passive bees try to keep their distance. Their deck-driven behaviors keep fights dynamic and readable.

• Household Weapons — Scavenge and equip ridiculous weapons found in each room. Each one feels different and changes how you approach the fight.

• Visual Event System — Smooth animations and clear feedback keep the action flowing without ever slowing down the decision-making.
