Browse an ever-expanding library of user-created spaces, visit one of our preset event locations, or even make your own! Drop into games, community meetups, performances, and live events or just come warm up by the digital campfire.

We provide the tools to help bring your most vivid virtual imaginations to life.

AltspaceVR is available on Meta Quest, Pico, Android, and Windows PC, including support for compatible SteamVR/OpenXR headsets.

No VR headset? No problem. AltspaceVR works just fine on Desktop and Android without VR.

Explore Worlds

AltspaceVR is made up of different virtual spaces called Worlds. Some are built for conversation and small meetups, while others are designed around games, performances, communities or large events.

You can move between Worlds, discover new places and join other people already there. We're also working on expanding the tools available to world creators so the range of experiences can grow alongside the community.

Meet People

Social interaction is at the centre of AltspaceVR.

Talk naturally with people around you using spatial voice chat, express yourself through your avatar and meet people through public Worlds, events and communities.

We're building out the social systems during Early Access, including friends, profiles, groups, messaging and better ways to find people and communities you want to spend time with.

Events

Events can range from a few people meeting up to larger organised gatherings.

Comedy nights, open mics, talks, screenings, community meetups, games, performances and late-night hangouts can all take place inside AltspaceVR.

Our goal is to make it easy to see what's happening, find something you're interested in and jump straight into it.

Avatars

Choose an avatar and customise how you appear to other people.

The avatar system is being expanded throughout Early Access with additional avatar options, clothing and customisation. We're also experimenting with progression and unlockable cosmetics as another way for people to build an identity over time.

VR and Desktop

A VR headset isn't required.

AltspaceVR can be played in VR or on a standard Windows PC, so people without a headset can still join Worlds, attend events and spend time with VR users.

The experience is free to play.
