All In Fresh
About the Game
All In Fresh is a game about ingredients.
More precisely, it's a game about what you think you know about ingredients.
The goal is simple: bid on ingredients at the market. Each ingredient has a quality. The quality is hidden. You read the clues, estimate the value, and decide what to pay.
If the decision is still yours to make.
Four players. One table. Everyone bids at the same time. Everyone reveals at the same time. Nobody knows what anyone else offered. Maybe nobody knows what that ingredient is actually worth.
But someone will guess right.
That person usually wins.
You buy ingredients to cook. Two ingredients, one recipe. The higher the quality, the greater the reward.
Some recipes are public. Some recipes are known to exist.
Their formulas are not.
Every successful bid sends a cut into the prize pool.
The pool belongs to whoever places the lowest winning bid in the final round.
So two competing rationalities sit at the same table: bid high enough to get what you want, or bid low enough to take the pool.
These goals tend to contradict each other. How you balance them is your problem.
You can use items to uncover clues. You can watch how your opponents bid. You can choose to double down — when you're certain your read is correct.
Or when you think you're certain.
These two states look identical until the settlement screen.
The ability to judge the true value of something
is worth something everywhere.
A match runs about six to eight minutes.
Long enough to make a lot of money.
Long enough to lose it.
The game contains:
Seven ingredient categories, hundreds of specific varieties
A hidden quality system
Recipes that are public, and recipes that aren't
A prize pool everyone at the table wants
A doubling mechanic you will probably regret
A clue system that will not give you the answer
Four possibly real players, all of whom think they read it right
Spend the least. Cook the best.
Good luck. You'll most likely need it.
Good thing this is just a game.
What if it isn't?
