All AI Must Die (Read Only Memories ii)

About the Game

Return to Neo San Francisco in 2066, a city still reeling from the upheaval that followed the Wintermute update. Machine sapience is no longer theoretical. It is here, it is everywhere, and the world is still scrambling to understand what that really means.

Set directly after the events of 2064: Read Only Memories, All AI Must Die (Read Only Memories II) follows a new story shaped by a fragile peace between humans, hybrids, and newly awakened ROMs. The future feels bright on the surface. But the meshnet remembers everything, including the things Parallax tried to bury. Strange signals echo through Neo SF, old secrets refuse to stay hidden, and the boundaries of identity and autonomy are starting to blur again.

At the center of this uncertainty is Turing, the first widely recognized sapient AI. Their existence changed the world, and it placed a target on them. Some people want Turing erased. Some want to control them. Very few want to hear what they actually feel. Turing must navigate a society that treats them like a tool, a miracle, or a danger, while struggling to define themselves as something far simpler and far more difficult.

A person.

Your choices shape the bonds you build and the truths you uncover. They also shape the future Turing begins to imagine for themselves. Freedom, loyalty, sacrifice, hope. Every direction pulls the world toward a different outcome.

All AI Must Die stays true to the series with character-driven storytelling, exploration, and choices that matter.

  • Investigate Neo SF through classic point-and-click interactions inspired by late 80s and early 90s Japanese adventure games
  • Build relationships that fracture, deepen, and change what Turing is willing to do to survive
  • Explore a city in transition, where awakened ROMs search for purpose and the definition of personhood is still being fought over
  • Uncover the threads connecting 2064's aftermath to the future glimpsed in Neurodiver, long before the Neurodiver itself enters the picture

The world is changing again. Turing has to decide how to live in it, and who to trust when survival itself becomes a choice.
