Age of Magellan: Sail the entire Planet

Age of Magellan: Sail the entire Planet

About the Game

Age of Magellan is an open-world historical sailing simulator set on a near-scale model of planet Earth, rendered from real geographic data with over 11,000 real port cities. Sail the entire planet and relive the feats of the great discoverers — round the Cape with Bartolomeu Dias, reach the Indies with da Gama, cross the Atlantic with Columbus, or complete the first circumnavigation yourself.

Navigate Like It's 1500
Your GPS is a sextant. Find the horizon, sight the sun or Polaris, align the mirrors, and take a reading to fix your latitude. Trust your charts, the stars, and your instincts — or sail into a storm that strips the knowledge of your own position away from you.

From Merchant Courier to Royal Explorer
You start small. Your first commissions come from a merchant cooperative — run grain from Lisbon to Cascais, carry festival goods between nearby ports, stay out of trouble. Build reputation with any of seven crowns — Portugal, Spain, England, France, the Netherlands, Venice, or Genoa — across ten ranks, from Landlubber up to the legendary Ferdinand Magellan himself, and bigger doors open. A trading company hands you a longer route. A naval officer trusts you with a patrol. A royal minister marks your name. And eventually, a sealed letter arrives from the King himself: chart the unmapped coast of Africa, round the Cape of Good Hope, find a new sea route to India, reach Japan, circumnavigate the world.

Storms, Wind, and the Sea
Read the wind, trim your sails, and feel the difference between calm, moderate, and strong. Seasonal storm regions will tear your sails, break your hull, and destroy your fishing nets if you don't furl in time.

Real-Time Naval Combat
Engage pirates, privateers, and hostile navies in real-time duels that turn on wind, angle, and timing. Bring your port or starboard broadside to bear, wait out the reload, and hammer your opponent's hull or rake their sails as they maneuver to do the same to you. Close to boarding range and take the ship for yourself. Five ship classes — Sloop, Caravel, Xebec, Carrack, and Galleon — trade hull, sail, crew, and cannon count for very different captains.

Chart Your Own Course
Set your own bearing, pick your own port, plan your own voyage. Sail into the Pacific with no commission, no backing, and no one expecting you back. The planet is open. The fog peels back wherever you point the bow.
