About the Game

You finally got your dream job at a Softlight shelter. As the caretaker, your heart belongs to the strays. Feed them, watch them, comfort them, and help each one find the right home.

But lately, something seems off about the animals showing up at the door.

People call them Mimics. These things have learned to look like the animals we love. They wait for one mistake, one careless adoption, one night inside the shelter. Let the wrong creature in, and the danger may not stay behind your doors.

Your job doesn't end when the animal enters the shelter.

Monitor the shift

• By day, inspect animals, read adoption requests, check records, and decide who deserves a home.

• By night, take in new arrivals, watch for strange behavior, and survive until morning.

Your job is not only to reject Mimics. Some animals need food, rest, patience, and a second chance. Others need to be watched closely before they show what they really are.

When something feels wrong, act fast. Send suspected Mimics to the Mimic Response Unit before night falls. Wait too long, and they may mutate inside the shelter.

Every stamp carries weight. Approve an adoption, reject a mimic, release an animal, or follow the hidden story behind it. A good match may bring a thank-you letter. A bad one may become tomorrow morning's news. Discover different endings based on how you treat animals, adopters, and your choices all shape the story.
