ABLATION

ABLATION

About the Game

ABLATION is a first person puzzle game about moving materials around. You can peel them off surfaces, carry them and then lay them somewhere else. A few change how the world works, and the puzzles are about getting those few to the right places.

One material at a time

You can only carry one material, so every peel is a trade. Take the water off a wall and you can't climb it any more. Move the sky and the floor it was lighting disappears. Solving a room means working out what has to go where, and in what order, when the same sheet is needed in two places.

The materials

  • Sky: a sheet of open sky that gives off light wherever you put it.

  • Nothing: empty space that turns solid while light falls on it.

  • Water: stick to it to walk up walls and across ceilings.

  • Glass: lets light through to the other side.

  • The exit: a material too.

The places

Experience pleasant handcrafted levels: bright white voids, a fortress in the rain, the open sea, an endless marble hall. There is no narrator and no dialogue, so you must learn how things work by looking and trying.

Build your own

Make your own places in the level editor, with the same materials and rules, and share them on the Steam Workshop.
