A Quiet House in Flatbush

About the Game

A Quiet House in Flatbush is a survival retro VHS horror game where you are to escape a serial killer's house of horror! collect items, use your ingenuity to solve puzzles, bypass traps and overcome obstacles, evade the killer!

Based on real events

A Quiet House in Flatbush is set in 1992 Brooklyn. You play a young woman abducted on her walk home through Flatbush, waking up in a dungeon beneath a house in Albemarle Terrace — a real hidden enclave.

The house belongs to a killer. The game is about surviving it. That's the surface.

Beneath the surface: this is a game about what it means to confront the situation at hand rather than look away.

The player who pays attention will find that the house is not just a place to survive. It is a portrait of a person, assembled piece by piece.

The vibe, graphics and atmosphere of the game is inspired by the PS1 era of games as well as the 80s era of slasher films.

The soundtrack & FX is made purely on analog equipment by Tater Andersson.
Capturing the essence of John Carpenter's synth work as well as being influenced by Oslo's noise underground scene in Norway.
